How should I clean my makeup brush?

It's best to cleanse your brushes once a week to prevent bacterial buildup and to ensure that they perform at their best.

To clean your makeup brushes, we advise using a natural brush cleanser or a gentle natural soap or shampoo. Dampen the brush's bristles under a running faucet, pour a dime-sized amount of soap into your palm, and gently swirl the brush in your hand until all the pigment has released. Rinse the bristles clean (ensuring they are always pointing down) and squeeze out any excess moisture. Leave them to dry flat on a cloth overnight.

To ensure your brushes last as long as possible, we recommend washing and drying your brushes with the bristles facing downwards so that no water seeps into the metal ferrule, which can dissolve the glue that holds the bristles in place and cause rust.

What material are your makeup brush bristles made from?

Our makeup brush bristles are made from hypoallergenic synthetic fibers and designed to pick up just the right amount of product. They’re dermatologically tested and gentle enough for sensitive skin. Our brushes are vegan and never tested on animals.

What are different kinds of makeup brushes used for?
  • Large, fluffy brushes (like our Powder Bronzer Brush): Primarily for distributing powder product across a large area. They’re perfect for face powder or powder bronzer.
  • Smaller brushes with denser bristles: Best for applying creamy or liquid products. The dense bristles can hold onto the product and distribute it evenly where it’s needed. These brushes are also good for blending the products for an even finish.
  • Smaller, fluffy eye brushes: For applying eye shadow and blending it out.
  • Smaller, angled brushes: For applying eye shadow as eyeliner or for smudging out an eye pencil.
  • Lip Brush: Used to apply lip products such as lipstick or lip tint, helping you to achieve a precise application and a defined lip.
What is the each Eye Brush used for?
  • Angle Eye Brush: Ideal for buffing out eyeliner, applying eye shadow to the lash line for a soft, diffused eyeliner effect, or to fill in sparse areas of the eyebrow with eye shadow.
  • Soft Eye Brush: Used to apply larger sweeps of eye shadow across the lid and blend out colors for a soft, smoky look.
  • Crease Eye Brush: Designed with a long, slim shape to help contour the eyes, add depth to the crease, and blend out shadows.
  • Definition Eye Brush: Created with stiffer bristles to hold onto eye shadow and create more intense definition around the eyes.
